In a time where more people than before are relying on medications, more of us are experiencing dis-ease, where rare diseases are becoming commonplace, where hundreds of our fellow earth dwelling species are going extinct, where more of our water ways are covered with microplastics than not, where more of the ‘stuff’ in supermarkets barely resembles real food, and where more of our foods are covered with chemicals than not, it’s easy to see why so many of us are asking ‘surely we can do better than this’? We are increasingly being asked if holistic health is something more people are looking at and the answer is ABSOLUTELY!!! We are filled with hope by the numbers of people coming to us seeking to learn more about how to return to nature, how to live a life low in toxins, how to avoid chemicals, how to heal themselves naturally and help others, how to heal the divides, and how to create a more well, kinder, compassionate, and aware world. What is holistic coaching? The word holistic generally refers to the concept of seeing the whole person within their whole picture, this applies to holistic health and to holistic coaching. Modern medicine at present remains as reductive and reductionist, seeing human beings as parts. We have an issue with joints we see a rheumatologist, we have menstrual issues we are referred to a gynaecologist and so on. Yet if we consider how naturopaths and other holistic healing professionals are trained they consider the whole person, their pre-screening includes a review of each body system from cardio-respiratory, digestive, reproductive and everything in-between. For example, a leaky gut may not simply but an intestinal issue but potentially an immunity challenge such as an allergy or toxins. What makes holisitc therapies unique? Holistic therapists see the whole person, a holistic wellness coach coaches the whole person and meets them right where they are. Holistic coaches use transformational coaching rather than transactional coaching. For example, rather than coaching the client on the problem they present with, holistic coaches partner with their clients to evoke transformation so they are in control of their growth, change, and wellness. As whole beings we don’t exist in a vacuum, we are a physical being with many levels of expression and what makes us tick goes beyond the physical. Regardless of whether this is god, Buddha, Krishna or ‘the source’ most of us hold to a belief in something greater than our mere physical presence. More than ever before we see an increasing number of holistic therapies, the growing number of therapists attests to the growing demand by society to be cared for on a physical, emotional, mental and energetic level. It’s so evident - EFT, reiki, Bowen, right through to new knowledge around light waves and healing - we are the children (regardless of our physical age) of the dawn of a wonderful new era. So yes, more of us are awakening to a vision of a bright new morning, we are actively manifesting cleaner air, water and food, we are reconnecting to ourselves, to others and beyond, we are freeing ourselves from the bonds of depowering corporate rule placing profits before people and corrupt public officials, we are falling in love with the land and caring for it, we are creating a natural whole world for natural whole people.
