WELLBEING MANAGEMENT & COACHING PRACTICES
This unit allows students to develop their coaching practices through a step-by-step approach to applying the detailed knowledge gained in the prerequisite unit (Psychology, Behaviour Change & Wellbeing Management). You will put into practice many of the coaching skills covered in the prior unit as well as build a solid foundation for working with clients in a safe, effective, but engaging manner. As you progress you will build various case studies, starting out gently to finally undertaking a full case study. You will gain the confidence to work clients to explore areas of concern and stages of change, using tools to support clients to move beyond ambivalence so they can create visions and goals, along with action plans to live their life in full wellbeing. Students are provided with a wide array of tools in the course 'tool kit' so you don't need to 'recreate the wheel' when you start out. The unit starts out simply, then fleshes out every step and brings it all back to a user-friendly application in the real world. The practical tasks assimilate the assessment tasks you are building your skills and learning along the way.

Your task here is to set aside any need to solve problems, to hold others to your expectations, to let go of any need to be right or to judge, and importantly to hold the silence for client as they process their thoughts and feelings. You and your peer will take turns at being coached and at coaching. To complete the task you'll sharing your reflections on your experience by answering a short set questions which you'll gain personalised feedback on.
- Connection coaching session is a live small group session of just 3-4 students to get your coaching mojo and ask all those questions you have in your mind. Your participation is all that is required.
- Pro bono sessions you can undertake with your peer if you've struck up a connection, a student-coach from the study group, or someone from your network. You'll record your session (with permission), watch it back and submit a reflection (not the recording) of your coaching for feedback.
- lastly, you'll upload your coaching log of these sessions to complete this subject.
