FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
LEANNE COOPER
begun the business in 1998 from just one healthy eating course she taught at nights for six weeks, four terms a year. Since then we've grown into one of the largest, and most trusted providers of industry approved courses. If you watch providers long enough it's clear that some simply emulate others; Well College Global has always lead the way with new learning strategies, novel course options and quality of service. We pride ourselves on differentiation and on continuous improvement; we believe this will ensure our student's learning experience will be the best it can be. |
Leanne's early dream was to become a child psychologist. However, after completing a bachelors degree majoring in both psychology and education she opted to travel for three years, basing herself out of London. "It was my own health that bought me to nutrition, and I haven't looked back". Leanne settled in Sydney and retrained in nutrition, in the early days she worked two jobs after graduating; a nutrition practice three days a week, and lecturing in nutrition and psychology at a hospitality college. And, if that wasn't enough, the demand from students at the evening college for more started Well College Global, then called Cadence Health, and its store of online education options. A family bloomed, and Well College grew, soon the practice went and then the teaching, there's only so many hours in the day. Well College continued to expand, so much so Leanne made the conscious decision to keep the reins on the growth to maintain a balance. As babies turned into school children she could 'let out the girth' on the business, allowing the growth to continue in a balance, with a lovely 'cadence'. It didn't take too long before Well College grew to a size that it became her full-time job. 'We started with just me, then a part-timer and myself, then full-timers and on it went, you get the picture'.
Leanne recalls that Well College was actually one of the first to offer distance general interest nutrition courses in Australia, way back in 1998. "I launched it based on the feedback from the evening course. A huge number of the students asked me to offer a stage II course. Clearly there was a need for evidence-based nutrition courses designed to offer knowledge that enabled the general public make informed views about healthy eating, and wow. Sure looked like a blaring gap in the market to me".
"Hot on our heels was a myriad of other fitness and health colleges, and why not, that's market forces. Naturally this just meant to we had to listen harder to what our students were telling us they wanted next". Hence, Well College was also one of the first to offer a program in nutrition and wellbeing, and now you see dozens. We pride ourselves on 'listening to hear'... Just what is next is a little hush hush still, we are already global, although we are looking to ramp up our presence in Europe and North America. We believe our next release is going to take us to another level in health training.
We've asked Leanne what she thinks makes Well College different from the ever increasing numbers of providers in the same space. Her answer...

"It's not just hollow words, I mean it when I say Well College Global completely reflects |
We are in my view a highly personalised, service-orientated, boutique college that is honest,
that holds true to its values,
what we say on the surface is reflected deep down in our training and service.
We have one face, what you see is what we do! I am a firm believer that your intentions with which you do things says a great deal about you.
100% I couldn't grow Well College and throw my all at it if I didn't absolutely believe in it.
I'm extremely fortunate to have staff who feel exactly the same,
you just can't get much better than that as an organisation."

We can vouch for Well College as an honest-to-goodness college of wellbeing training, we are here for the community and we have a purpose that is honest and good! Everything we do is designed to 'speak' to you, to speak a language that connects, and to speak a truth that makes a difference. So, from that one small course Leanne wrote in '98, we now offer over 50 courses, at last count we have students from over 50 different countries, our programs are globally approved, and we've have served over 30,000 courses. Not bad from one small acorn!
When you reach out to connect with us you are just as likely to get Leanne on the end of the phone, staying connected with the foundations of the business is essential for Leanne, and being truly connected to her student community is paramount. As you can see from the picture above Leanne hangs near the water (the Northern Beaches in Sydney) and loves life with her husband Don Singe and her most amazing creations, their two boys.

Our mission statement is to enhance The Progress of Nations where ever opportunities to do so arise!
CAN' T SAY IT BETTER OURSELVES!
THE PROGRESS OF NATIONS
The day will come when the progress of nations will be judged not by their military or economic strength, nor by the splendour of their capital cities and public buildings, but by the well-being of their peoples by:
* their levels of health, nutrition and education;
* their opportunities to earn a fair reward for their labours;
* their ability to participate in the decisions that affect their lives;
* the respect that is shown for their civil and political liberties;
* the provision that is made for those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged; and,
* the protection that is afforded to the growing minds and bodies of their children.
