Introduction to Holistic Wellness

Time to reclaim your wellness and be a totally well being

A holistic wellness course for you and yours, covering the Five Pillars of Well Beings; Nourishment (for the body, mind and spirit); Connections (self, others, and beyond); Compassion (to self and others); Wisdom; and Transcendence. Every booklet is a writable booklet so you can work through the activities and really deepen your experience of holistic wellness. This course is a holistic approach to making a Well World for all its inhabitants and arises from a wholly authentic place... we believe in a Well World for all.
The Introduction to Holistic Wellness subject is a subject of study in our newest program the Holistic Wellness Coaching Program. In completing this subject you will have completed one subject in this qualification. You can credit this unit of study into the program at any time.

COURSE CONTENT

Below is a brief outline of the Pillars.  It typifies the whole course, every topic is discussed and you are provided with opportunities to practice your knowledge and learnings with awesome tools and templates. We start each pillar with a review of your coaching commitment ensuring you understand your 'why' (what brings you to wellness learning), outlining the process of coaching safely and then we explore goal setting techniques.

PILLAR 1: WHOLE BEING NOURISHMENT
Your foundation unit is divided into three elements
Nourish your body, mind and soul - you'll uncover how to live from a perspective where food as nourishment and not a tool. There are  easy tips to support you to nourish your body and to tune into internal cues so you eat for health and vitality. Movement for joy and vitality - in this section you'll explore physical activity and health status so you can be joyfully active, find easy ways to be moving more and learn how to amend habits. There are lots of fun activities to increase your vitality. You'll also look at successful ways to deal with change, you'll explore your values, and understand why we can feel such ambivalence at time and learn about decision making. We unpack the importance of rest and sleep, and dive into sleep hygiene tools.
Nourish your mind - Here you look at the importance of speaking and thinking kindly of yourself, the role of affirming the positive and how to cultivate your calm. We begin to unpack mindfulness in the 'Mindful you, mindful world' section and you'll delve into this with a number of awesome activities to create affirmations and mindful moments. Nourish your spirit/soul - And lastly we'll view spirit nourishment through the lense of Ayurvedic teachings, we journey into the world of energy and what the unseen but powerful means for life. We look at how we can work with activities such as mantras and ways to nourish our spirit.

PILLAR 2 - CONNECTION
Explores the importance of connection to the self, to others and to the planet. You'll learn about self-esteem, the importance of self-efficacy in our happiness and how to strengthen these. Belonging and kindness open the learnings around the area of connection to others. You'll unpack coaching communications and how this can revolutionise your connection to all who are around you. We'll delve into the importance of active listening, being able to hold the silence with ease for others, what types of communication best support others and the role of curiosity in our personal and professional development. And lastly, you'll uncover ways we can all be kind and connected to our shared home and be a conscious inhabitant. And of course, every topic is interspersed with experiential opportunities.

PILLAR 3 - COMPASSION
Increasingly we are becoming aware of the importance of compassion (to the self and towards others) as a way forward to a more kind and evolved society. In this pillar we look at what compassion is, the role of traits such as humility and forgiveness in our own happiness and mental health. You'll explore techniques to foster self-compassion and healing. Mental health has a central place in this unit, this is part of our commitment that every student who completes any form of coaching study with us gains mental health awareness training. Tools to overcome barriers and obstacles in life and to live our most fulfilled life are provided.

PILLAR 4 - WISDOM
Most of us wonder at the sages, how they effortlessly connect to challenges in a way that leads they beyond, above or out. This pillar explores how wisdom appears to be acquired and who we can grow our own wisdom. Topics such as lightheartedness, curiosity-led living, patience and the role of practices such as meditation, mindfulness and more can help us to live calm, allowing, peace-filled lives.

PILLAR 5 - TRANSCENDENCE
We'll delve into the transcendence path, and what traits and characteristic help foster this journey. You'll explore the role of gratitude, purpose, intuition, loving and belonging and how these influence self-actualisation, transcendence and awakening. Again, the discussions are interspersed with activities to enhance your experiential-based learning.
