HEALTHY LIFESTYLE COURSES, SEMINARS & PRESENTATIONS
(& FACILITATING GROUPS)

Undertaking this unit will assist you in designing a training program, or in delivering a course, workshop, seminar or lecture as well as working with small groups.  Designing and delivering a course or training session can be a very rewarding experience for both the trainer and the participants. Providing others with opportunities to better understand their health and to be able to make informed decisions can be a vital aspect of community health. Put simply, you are doing a good deed in spreading the word about healthy lifestyles.
 
Writing a program is hard enough, knowing what to include and when to stop is one of the biggest challenges in the early stages, but for many standing in front of eager participants and knowing how to chunk all the information you have in your head, structure it in a way that is not only logical but develops understanding, making it flow effortlessly and doing this with absolute confidence and in an entertaining way can be an entirely different 'kettle of fish' all together.
To see a participant take just a snippet of your information and
apply it to their life and for it make a difference is an amazing feeling. It is a real sign that your program is successful and is an endorsement of your skills.

This unit is ideal for anyone seeking to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for healthy living, whether it's via a one off seminar, a program run over a series of days or evenings, a workshop or via group sessions, whether the mode of delivery is online or face-to-face, you will gain the know-how and confidence to pass on your message with confidence and fun. This course will not train you to be a teacher, rather it supports you to deliver your healthful lifestyle message effectively. 
 
This unit is an elective unit in the Advanced Certificate of Nutrition & Health Coaching.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • List at least two documents required in training delivery
  • Describe the basic elements of a syllabus
  • List the main elements of a session plan
  • Create a session plan with appropriate scheduling
  • Demonstrate the delivery of a topic with flow, engagement and confidence
