The Certificate of Human Nutrition course takes you through the latest evidence-based information about essential nutrition knowledge.

​It covers defining a 'good diet', a review of global dietary guidelines, all you need to know about carbohydrates and sugars, the latest on dietary fats (with special coverage of cholesterol and saturated fats), how protein functions, and a special look at vegetarian and vegan diets. You'll also look into micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), water balance and hydration. Plus special topics such as early nutrition (including a look at food allergies), pregnancy nutrition, sports nutrition, weight loss nutrition, nutrition of older adults, food safety and a chapter on dietary assessment (based on a non-diet approach).

If you're toying with the idea of a career in nutrition you might want to consider 'testing the water' first to see if you want to pursue a career in nutrition. 

On completion of this nutrition course you can pathway to a degree and receive a unit exemption/s in the Nutrition or Naturopathic diplomas and degree at Endeavour College of Natural Health or Torrens University!
Also ideal for PTs seeking to work more closely with clients eating. 

We teach nutrition, not diets! You'll hold solid knowledge to make, and share, informed decisions, and you'll be able to know where to find credible information. We don't cover every diet known to man, we teach you how to evaluate them past, present and future, we think that's a pretty good life long skill.

OUR NUTRITION AND MIND/BODY NOURISHMENT PHILOSOPHY
Non-diet based approach: Healthy Eating at Every Size (HAES)
Unlike many training providers we don't adhere to any diet or to dieting, nor do we teach nutrition from a restriction-paradigm. Science has proven dietary restriction methods for weight management don't work. Well College has adopted the non-diet approach (NDA) which has shown excellent long-term outcomes (refer HAES – Health at Every Size, Linda Bacon). The NDA is a gentle approach, encouraging us to return to being in-tune with our bodies, and to see food as nourishment for the mind, body and soul.

We teach client-led nutrition & health coaching
Coaching at it's core honours the creative, resourceful beings we all are. Well College teaches a client-led coaching approach, this starts a process of letting go of the need to solve others challenges, and the need to be right, and the need to be liked. Instead you'll learn how to use curiosity to direct you, and led from behind while placing clients firmly in charge of their life course. Simply... we honour and teach self-compassion and empowerment.

Ask the right questions so you can make an informed choice
When you see statements that suggest a food coach is a nutritionist we recommend you proceed carefully. While anyone can refer to themselves as almost anything in theory, to be registered and insured to work in an area of health is an entirely separate thing. Ask providers making such claims, what body will register you as a 'nutritionist', and where your insurance will come from. Be informed!
